Fables of Gods & Kings is a massively multiplayer role-playing game set in a persistent world that's designed from the ground up to address the many problems and shortcomings in today's conventional MMORPGs. In Fables of Gods & Kings, you are part of an epic, ongoing storyline. Fill your characters' days adventuring, sieging, plying a trade, or governing a town, county, or kingdom. Work toward increasing your family's holdings and building your Noble House. And then, in your characters' final days, let them sleep the final sleep and be re-born into another character to make their own mark on the world.

Design Journals

The design goals for Fables of Gods & Kings are encapsulated in a series of articles collectively called "Design Journals". These define the targets we are aiming for with our development — the ideals of Fables of Gods & Kings — from which adjustments may need to be made as we progress to satisfy any practical constraints imposed by available technology.



The functional workings of Fables of Gods & Kings are encapsulated in detailed write-ups we call "Mechanics". These articles serve to explain how the game will actually work to implement the ideals expressed in our Design Journals.



The stories, legends and history of Fables of Gods & Kings are encapsulated in writings we call "Lore". In this section, we endeavor to give context to the world in which you will be playing so that you can have a fuller, richer and more immersive experience. But unlike most games, lore isn't merely "flavor text" in Fables of Gods & Kings to be ignored. It's information about actual events that took place and things that once existed filtered through the lens of time. Those steeped in the lore of Fables of Gods & Kings — and armed with the knowledge of the world around them — will be powerful characters indeed.



The environments that exist in the world of Fables of Gods & Kings are called "Biomes", and we've provided detailed descriptions of them to give players a sense of what they'll be stepping into.
